Our next meeting will be on Thursday 15th February, 6.30pm - Hopper Lane Hotel, Blubberhouses
It is entitled 'Skills and Training for a 21st Century Workforce' conclusions to be submitted by the end of February. We also have responses from two of the Ministers concerned to the opinions which we expressed on the Cost of Living paper.
136 constituencies submitted their views. The most interesting reply is from Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. There may well be responses from other Ministers in due course.
All can be viewed on the Conservative Policy Forum website. You will see that George Freeman MP is our Chairman. In his letter of the 18th December he confirms that he will be working with the newly elected Conservative Parliamentary Backbench Policy Chairs to ensure that the CPF provides a strong voice and, as the voice of the grassroots, is listened to.
We need a large turnout to ensure that our recommendations are noted. Please reserve the date and come along. It has never been more important for us to make our views known. Please email Helen to confirm your attendance to the meeting on 15th February so that we can get an idea of numbers. Email: [email protected]
The plans for CPF national discussion papers in 2018 are as follows:
Jan/Feb: Jobs and Skills
Mar/May: Environment
Jan/Aug: Health and Social Care, inc Mental Health
More details will be communicated when known.
The summaries of the conclusions about Conservative Values and the Cost of Living Ministerial Responses can be found on the CPF website dated 17/11/2017 and 18/12/2017 respectively.
