New Chairman Elected

Nick Bannister of Coniston Cold was recently elected Chairman of the Skipton and Ripon Conservative Association.  Nick took over the Chairmanship from Councillor Bernard Bateman of Ripon.

In a speech to assembled members at the Annual General Meeting he emphasised the need for inclusivity within the party and announced he would be moving forward with initiatives to increase the number of young people active within the association and promote business forums throughout the constituency.

Nick also stressed that the coming year should combine politics with fun and he was looking forward to meeting members and supporters at the many events scheduled in the coming months.  Local elections in May are a priority for the Association and the Chairman said he would be supporting candidates throughout the area on their campaign days.

Rt. Hon. Julian Smith MP congratulated Nick Bannister and said he was anticipating a busy year ahead and he welcomed the opportunity of working closely with the new officer team.
